The FIRST LEGO League Italia Regional Qualification stage for Southern Italy will take place tomorrow February 13 at the Augusteo Theater in Salerno.

It was present also Carlo De Iuliis, Plant Manager of Cartesar.

The world robotics and science competition for children aged 9 to 16 was born in 1998 from a synergy between FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology), an American association that deals with promoting science and technology, and LEGO. Since 2015, the FIRST® LEGO® League Junior has also been added, reserved for children aged 6 to 10.

The teams design, build and program autonomous robots, applying them to real problems of great general interest to search for innovative solutions.

The theme for the 2018/2019 season is related to space exploration and will transport the teams to space, where they will explore, face challenges in the vast expanse of the universe, to celebrate 50 years from the first moon landing.

The reference point for Italy has been the Rovereto Civic Museum Foundation since 2012, with the support of the Municipality of Rovereto, the Autonomous Province of Trento and MIUR. The event this year will take place with the patronage and collaboration of ASI (Italian Space Agency).
