Cartesar SPA's first EPD (Environmental Product Declaration) has been published

We have published our first EPD (Environmental Product Declaration), the document that allows companies to communicate the environmental impacts of a product or service to the market and to gain greater awareness of the critical impacts of their supply chain. Cartesar’s goal is to improve processes and communicate what has been achieved, deepening the commitment on issues of economic and environmental sustainability, linked to the product category.

Our EPD analyzes the environmental impacts associated with the realization of two different types of product, which represent the whole of Cartesar production (4% greenpaper®, 96% Other Papers) and which they are mainly distinguished by the origin of the raw material (pulp) and the distribution scenario:

  • Greenpaper®: recycled wave paper and cover for corrugators with weights from 90 to 160 g / m2 and technical name “greeneffe” – “greenpaper® light” – “greenpaper® standard”
  • Other papers: recycled, wave / cover, with weights from 90 to 180 g / m2

In particular, we wanted to highlight the positive impacts of the production of recycled papers (Other Papers) and the further benefits deriving from proximity recycling that characterize the Greenpaper® line, which uses only local pulps with a distribution of the finished product to the 3 main corrugators of Campania, thus maintaining the entire value chain in the territory.
