The 100th Giro d'Italia (bicycle race) celebrates eco-sustainability

The one-hundredth edition of the Giro d’Italia (bicycle race) closes with an important objective achieved in the field of sustainability, thanks to the #RideGreen project.

The separate waste collection organised at all 21 stops achieved an average of 89%, even reaching 90% at the arrival in Milan. This year beat the 84% of the first edition in 2016, with almost 85 tons of collected waste in total, of which 7 tons of organic fraction, more than 64 of paper, about 2 and half of plastic and 1.7 of glass.

#RideGreen is promoted by RCS Sport and Erica Soc Coop. The 100% Campania sustainable packaging network – which includes Cartesar as a member – is a partner in the project.
