Inauguration of Via Carlo De Iuliis

Inauguration of Via Carlo De Iuliis

On Sunday November 23rd, on the occasion of the Feast in honour of Patron Saint Clemente, the Municipal Administration of Pellezzano will inaugurate this new road that will connect the industrial plants on the right of the Irno River with the local craft workshops of the town of “Grillo.” The ceremony is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. and will be attended by civil, military and religious authorities. The road is the result of a serious commitment made by the government that has laboured since the first day of its establishment to complete the works after many years. Together with the inauguration, the Municipal Administration Council Deliberation intends to entitle the new road “Carlo De Iuliis” after the entrepreneur and environmental industrialist who, many years earlier, realised that for Italy, lacking in forests, the area of greatest development could only be that of paper made from recycled fibres and that recycling would be the business of the future. In 1974, with this intuition, he founded “Cartesar SpA,” a leading company in the production of paper and cardboard from separate waste collection, identifying Pellezzano as the most suitable logistical site. This above all because the territory has always been characterised by the presence of old factories that helped enrich the industrial culture of the territory, and above all the human resources and useful skilled workers who still work there. Mayor Giuseppe Pisapia said, “The road we will inaugurate on Sunday is an important artery that will allow greater communication between the industrial nuclei, thus avoiding the city centre. This government intends to enhance the current works carried out along the same path of the entire River Irno, at the same time creating an entrance to the Urban Park of the Irno, as regards the lakes bordering the city of Salerno.” Pisapia concluded by saying, “I believe that this is a great example of how we can concretely succeed in administering and working in the interests of our communities, above all with regards to viability in such a diversified territory as that of Pellezzano.”
